Charters Village will on completion be an age exclusive village with an age covenant of 65 plus. The village is approached via a tree-lined driveway leading to Charters Court, the centrepiece of the community.

Charters Village will have its own 60 bed care home: Charters Court. The home is being purpose built to ensure residents enjoy all the benefits of living in a friendly, familiar community with the very best care and support available around the clock.
In keeping with other Retirement Villages’ care homes, Charters Court will be split into suites, Each will have its own wing and be staffed by a dedicated team of carers, nurses and support staff. By having specialist residential care, nursing care, dementia and dementia nursing care available, residents and their loved ones can be assured they will be given exactly the level of support they require, even if circumstances change.

East Grinstead: East Grinstead is an old market town dating from the 13th century when Edward I ordered that his market at Grenestede should be held on a Saturday instead of a Sunday. Later in the 17th century this was changed to Thursday and this is still the market day. Cromwell House is 15th century and St Margarets Convent is now housing. Beautiful Sackville College is a Jacobean almshouse founded in the early 17th century by the Earl of Dorset for poor and disabled people and is built in the local sandstone.

There are many interesting places to visit nearby including Saint Hill Manor, built in the 1830s and now the headquarters of the Scientologists and Standen, a National Trust house with William Morris wallpaper. There are several golf courses in the area including the Royal Ashdown Forset Golf Club.
