East Wittering is an attractive village on the south coast and forms a continuous ribbon of seaside development on the western side of the low-lying headland below Chichester with Selsey its furthermost point jutting out into the sea. The Witterings have long been known for their beaches and there are some beautiful walks beyond West Wittering beach on land owned by the National Trust. The village has several shops, a health centre and library. There are many places to visit nearby including Pagham Harbour, a beautiful nature reserve of more than a thousand acres, and the sailing villages of Itchenor, Bosham and Dell Quay in Chichester Harbour.
