Church View consists of 14 houses some with beautiful views of the 14th century church of St Philip and St James set in the Somerset Hills close to Bath and Bristol. Nearby is the George Inn which is one of the oldest pubs in England.

Facilities include estate management services.

Norton St Philip is recorded as Nortune in Domesday and had a mill, pigs, sheep and cattle. In the middle ages the village became prosperous with the wool trade  and the George Inn was the village's wool store for the priory at Hinton Chaterhouse and also housed the merchants coming to the fairs. In the 17th century 12 executions took place in Churchmead following the failed Monmouth Rebellion. The rebels with a force of possibly 5000 men ambushed the Royal Army in Norton St Philip and got the upper hand.
