Park House consists of 38 one and two-bedroom flats with shared services completed in 2018.

Harpenden probably derives its name from the shape of the valley 'Valley of the Harp' and was known as Harpendene in the 13th century. It remained very much a village throughout the Middle Ages and it was not until the coming of the railways in the 19th century that the village grew into a town. However this considerable expansion did not include the development of Harpenden Common and parks most of which survive today. The central area of Harpenden is known as 'The Village' with Church Green, Leyton Green and High Street Greens.

The town lies about five miles north-west of St Albans and has a very long high street with good shopping and attractive 18th century buildings. Harpenden railway station is on a frequent and fast rail link to central London.
