Marlborough is situated in beautiful yet diverse Wiltshire countryside from natural deciduous woodland in the ancient Savernake Forest to open undulating Downland to the north and west. Much of the area is protected as being of outstanding historical or natural interest including the famous neolithic Stone Circle at Avebury, Silbury Hill, the Long Barrow at West Kennet, Littlecote House and the Kennet and Avon Rivers.
