Abbeyfield House consists of two houses (24 and 26 East Street) linked with a large and elegant sun lounge opening onto a secluded garden. The houses can accommodate 15 people each in their own small flatlet with bedroom, shower room and small kitchenette.

Facilities include non-resident management staff and emergency alarm system, communal lounge, dining room, guest facilities, laundry, lift and garden.

Fareham is a relatively new town growing up in the shadow of the famous naval port of Gosport about five miles to the southeast. Here there are shingle beaches at Stokes Bay and there is a passenger ferry to Portsmouth. Today Fareham provides good shopping facilities and has a covered shopping centre. Nearby are the quays of Fareham Creek with their old waterside buildings. There are fine views from Portchester Hill in the eastern part of the Borough as well as from Portchester Castle overlooking Portsmouth Harbour.
