Ryfields Village is situated off Norris Street in Orford to the north of Warrington. The development consists of 243 bungalows and flats with extra care facilities completed in 2002.

Facilities include an alarm service and 24 hour non-resident management services, lift, residents lounge, laundry, restaurant, community centre, hobby room, cafe, shop, hairdressing salon, library, guest facilities and garden.

Warrington is situated on the Manchester Ship Canal and this helped the town to expand rapidly in the 19th century. The town centre was burnt in the 17th century but a few old houses remain and the Barley Mow is a fine half-timbered inn. The town has several museums including the Municipal Museum and Art Gallery in Bond Street and the Military Museum of the South Lancashire Regiment. There is a statue of Oliver Cromwell near the bridge.
