Hartfields Retirement Village : Hartfields Retirement Village is situated in Bishop Cuthbert in Middle Warren about two miles from Hartlepool town centre and about half a mile from local shops. The development consists of 242 bungalows and flats with communal facilities built by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in 2007.

Hartlepool : Hartlepool is situated on the coast on Hartlepool Bay and was an important port in the early middle ages with Crusader knights using it as an embarcktion point for the Holy Land. The town still has a stretch of medieval wall with an archway leading down to a beach. The town's museum in Norrthgate illustrates the importan lcal industries including coal, iron and shipbuilding. Castle Eden is a fine 18th centruy house lying about eight miles to th nortwest and Castle Eden Denes forms a local nature reserve.
