Middleton Towers Retirement Village : Middleton Towers Retirement Village is set in over 80 acres on the Lancashire coast about four miles from Lancaster. The development consists of bungalows and apartments in a secure environment. It aims to be a complete village environment for the over 55's and when completed will have many of the leisure facilities associated with a large retirement village.

Facilities : These will include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, communal facilities and estate management services.

Lancaster : Lancaster was the county town of Lancashire until Preston became the administrative centre in the 19th century. It is set at the mouth of the River Lune on the north-west coast and its name derives from 'Roman fort on the River Lune'. The town grew up around its Norman castle and in the Middle Ages became an important port and in the 18th century a centre of trade with America. Eventually the Lune started to silt up and with the rise of Liverpool further south its maritime trade declined.
