Earnbank is situated off the Old Edinburgh Road just behind the Main Street (A912). It consists of 54 flats and bungalows with gardens and was completed in 1986.

Facilities include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, communal lounge and guest facilities.

Bridge of Earn is a large village lying about four miles south-east of Perth now by-passed by the M90 motorway. For many centuries it was on the main route from Edinburgh to Perth and the ancient stone bridge was finally demolished in the 20th century. At about the same time the original village was conjoined with the village of Kintillo and has since expanded considerably.

Perth is an ancient small city called the 'Fair City' by Sir Walter Scott in his 19th century novel, 'The Fair Maid of Perth'. Once the capital of Scotland Perth is set on the beautiful River Tay and for many years played an important role in the affairs of the Kingdom. In the Middle Ages Edward 1 of England fortified the town and James 1 of Scotland was later murdered here. James V1 of Scotland, subsequently King of England, was kidnapped in Perth in the 16th century and two centuries later the town was twice taken by the Jacobites.
