Elmbridge Retirement Village is to the south of Cranleigh in a country location just off the main A281 Guildford to Horsham Road. The village consists of apartments and bungalows with communal faciilities set around attractive garden squares. It is now adjacent to a new Nursing Home and is approached off the B2130. The development was originally completed in 1981 with 150 properties and has since been sympathetically restored.

The history of Cranleigh dates back to the Mesolithic works which were found here in the 1770's. However, in later centuries farming became the main activity and today this large village is one of Surrey's most delightful places to shop with a mix of High Street shops and supermarkets. Cranleigh also has a library, an arts centre and a wide selection of restaurants. Cranleigh is famous for its public school which dates back to 1864. Locally the village is well known for its week long family tennis tournament which takes place on the green.
