Located in a beautiful part of the Algarve in the hills near Santa Barbara de Nexe, Monte da Palhagueira Retirement Village is set in 22 acres of grounds with olive trees, old stone walls and ornamental gardens. Faro, capital of the Algarve province with its international airport is about 20 minutes drive from the village. Flying time from the UK averages two and a half hours with daily flights from most of the major airports in the south of England. Lisbon is 45 minutes by air from Faro Airport with daily flights and about 3 to 4 hours by road. The largest and busiest of the inland towns is Loule, about ten minutes drive from the village. The Spanish border to the east is about a 30 minute drive.
