Bushmead Court is located in the Bushmead area of Luton with views of the Bedfordshire Downs. It is set in landscaped grounds and comprises 41 Apartments on two floors.

Within the Court, visiting chiropody and hairdressing services are arranged along with a mobile library visits and delivery and collection of prescriptions. There is also a lively social scene at Bushmead Court for those who wish to participate.

Facilities : To compliment the individual private apartments or bungalows, at every Court there are extensive communal facilities including a very comfortable lounge, a dining room and a meeting room and all Courts have a guest suite available for Owners’ visitors or prospective purchasers who may be considering a move to the Court. All Courts have attractive gardens and landscaped areas which are carefully maintained.

Staffing and services available are greater than in traditional sheltered housing. A Manager ensures the smooth administration of the Court and in addition, a team of Duty Managers operate a rota system , 24 hours a day. A larger team of Housekeeping Assistants provide one-and-a-half hours of domestic help to each single Owner or couple every week as well as keeping the communal areas clean and tidy.

At each Court, a comfortable dining room provides a substantial meal every day, usually at lunch time at a modest price for everyone who wishes to have it. Meals can be taken to Owners who are unwell. Help can be offered to provide other meals and snacks if required.

Luton was known as Lintone in Domesday and had a church, 6 mills and a market and was then larger than Bedford. It was a settlement in Roman times and being on the edge of the wooded Chilterns it had by the 11th century the most pigs in the county. Today it is a large industrial town with a successful airport lying about 12 miles north of Junction 21 of the M25.

Nearby is Luton Hoo, a vast mansion originally designed by Robert Adam and set in over a thousand acres. Today it continues to house the fabulous Wernher collection including pictures by Filippino Lippi, Hans Memming and portraits by Reynolds. The Wardown Park museum is famous for its lace.
