Tunbridge Wells is a particularly attractive town which developed as a spa in the 17th century. It was further popularised a century later when Beau Nash, who had done much to promote Bath, became master of ceremonies. Today it is a bustling town famous for the tree-lined Pantiles and its Regency arcade. There are museums, art galleries, theatres and many fine parks.
