Cricklade is an ancient Saxon burgh on the Thames and is the most northern town of Wiltshire. Still today can be seen the impressive defensive works set up by King Alfred in the ninth century to hinder any Danish foray into Wessex. The south wall of St Sampson‘s Church, in the middle of the town, is Anglo-Saxon in origin. Today Cricklade is an attractive market town bypassed by the A419 to the west giving quick and easy access to Swindon and Cirencester. Facilities: There is an emergency alarm system and attractive gardens and grounds within walking distance of shops. Abingdon Court Farm is a delightful development of 26 retirement properties recently completed close to the centre of Cricklade in Wiltshire. There is a mixture of two bedroom cottages, apartments and bungalows set around a quite courtyard yet within easy walking distance of the town centre. Tenure: Leasehold General Information: Abingdon Court Farm is managed by the Abingdon Court Farm Residents Association.
