Crompton Court is situated off Lupin Gardens in Bilbrook close to shops to the northwest of the town centre. The development consists of 31 houses completed in 1999. Facilities include a resident manager and alarm service, communal lounge, laundry and garden. Wolverhampton is an old settlement and its name is thought to come from 'Wulfrunishamtun' meaning the town of Wulfrun but in a 10th century royal charter it is referred to as 'Heantun'. The town grew as a market centre for wool in the middle ages and became an important industrial centre if the 19th century specialising in steel, cars and mining.
