It was always an important regional centre but came to prominence in the nineteenth century as an engineering town. Rugby School was founded in the sixteenth century and is famous for its headmaster, Dr Thomas Arnold, and for giving its name to the international game of Rugby football which the British still excell at. Facilities : These include a resident manager and emergency alarm system, communal lounge, guest facilities and gardens. Access : Rugby is equidistant between the M6 and M45 motorways with the M6 at Junction 1 and the M45 at Junction 1 about three miles away. Coventry is about ten miles and Lutterworth seven miles. Easenhall is about three miles. Fast trains to London (Euston) take just over an hour.
