Bethel Court is a small retirement development of five bungalows situated off Church Road and built in 1991. Facilities include an alarm service and garden. Potter Heigham is situated below the Hickling Broad and is mentioned as Echam in Domesday and belonged to Godric de Heigham. It is a convenient centre for touring the Broads and an old three arched bridge crosses the River Thurne about a mile to the southeast. The bridge is well known for being the most difficult to navigate in the area. Today the village is part of the Ludham-Potter Heigham National Nature Reserve and the Weavers Way passes through the village on its way from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. The church has a round tower typical of the area and a rare 15th century brick font.
