Princes Risborough : is about seven miles south of Aylesbury and was mentioned in Domesday as Riseberge and had two mills. It has an attractive town centre with 18th century houses and the brick market house has arcades with a wooden cupola. The 17th century Manor House is now owned by the National Trust and Chequers is a little over a mile to the northeast. The town has some good shopping and fast trains to London (Marylebone) take about 45 minutes. Monks Risborough to the north is about two miles away and can be walked via the Icknield Way.
