Eastbourne: Eastbourne is mentioned in Domesday as having a mill, fishery and sixteen salt-houses and no doubt there were salt workings on these coasts since prehistoric times. The Downs from the west come to an abrupt end to the west of Eastbourne and it is the high white cliffs off Beachy Head for which Eastbourne is famous. The town expanded largely as a result of the Victorians and the fashion for sunny resorts in the nineteenth century. The many beautiful parks and gardens were laid out to absorb the influx of visitors and today they remain as a testament to the Victorians ingenuity for genteel town planning. Facilities: These include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, communal lounge, guest facilities, and laundry. It is just a short walk to the shops. Cheriton Court: Cheriton Court was built in 1990 and consists of twenty-four flats in a single building close to shops in Green Street about a mile and a half from Eastbourne town centre. There is limited parking to the rear of the development. Tenure: Leasehold General Information: Cheriton Court is managed by James Butcher Housing Association Ltd, Arlington House, Dittons Park, Polegate, East Sussex BN26 6HY Tel. 01323 488 044 If you want to call the management company direct call , or if you want to contact the development direct, call |
