Princes Risborough is about seven miles south of Aylesbury and was mentioned in Domesday as Riseberge and had two mills. The seventeenth century Manor House is now owned by the National Trust and Chequers is a little over a mile to the north-east.

The town has some good shopping and fast trains to London (Marylebone) take about 45 minutes. Monks Risborough to the north is about two miles away and can be walked via the Icknield Way
