Boat Lane Court : Boat Lane Court comprises fifty-four well planned one or two bedroom apartments on three levels, all of which are accessible by both stairs and lifts. All of the apartments have balconies or terraces and the Court contains comfortable communal facilities including a dining room and a very attractive lounge with conservatory. There is also a guest suite which Owners can reserve for use by visitors. There is ample secure parking space in front of the Reception block.

Facilities : To compliment the individual private apartments or bungalows, at every Court there are extensive communal facilities including a very comfortable lounge, a dining room and a meeting room and all Courts have a guest suite available for Owners’ visitors or prospective purchasers who may be considering a move to the Court. All Courts have attractive gardens and landscaped areas which are carefully maintained.

Staffing and services available are greater than in traditional sheltered housing. A Manager ensures the smooth administration of the Court and in addition, a team of Duty Managers operate a rota system , 24 hours a day. A larger team of Housekeeping Assistants provide one-and-a-half hours of domestic help to each single Owner or couple every week as well as keeping the communal areas clean and tidy.

At each Court, a comfortable dining room provides a substantial meal every day, usually at lunch time at a modest price for everyone who wishes to have it. Meals can be taken to Owners who are unwell. Help can be offered to provide other meals and snacks if required.

Northenden : Northenden is about six miles south of Manchester on the south bank of the River Mersey which forms part of the Mersey Valley Trail. The area has long been settled and Northenden is mentioned in Domesday and its name probably derives from 'northern dale or valley'. In the 14th century a weir crossed the Mersey at this point and the village prospered in Medieval times due to its prominent position on the Salt Road from Cheshire to Manchester. Today there are a good range of shops and amenities.
