Bracebridge is a development of bungalows on the outskirts of Worksop completed in 1989. Altogether there are 22 properties, mostly two bedroom, a short distance from shops in Cheapside.? Facilities include estate management services. Worksop is a town on the River Ryton and often described as the gateway to the 'Dukeries' due to the great estates in the north of Sherwood Forest once being owned by the powerful Dukes of Norfolk, Portland, Newcastle and Kingston. The towns most well known building is the fourteenth century gatehouse of the priory Church of SS Mary and Cuthbert. The church is in part Norman and has a twelth century nave. There are many interesting places to visit nearby including Clumber Park, all that remains of an 18th century mansion built by the Duke of Newcastle, with beautiful grounds, forest walks and a serpentine lake. A little further south of the town is Welbeck Abbey, with its labyrinth of underground passages.
