Reading: Reading is mentioned in Domesday as 'Redinges' having six mills and more than five fisheries and belonged to the king. It is the county town of Berkshire and was originally an Iron Age settlement before becoming a Roman centre. In the sixteenth century the town was known as Redding and was already of some importance with the great Benedictine abbey being used as a source of raw material to further expand the town.

Today Reading is a thriving centre with many shops, leisure facilites, cinemas and a renowned theatre, The Hexagon. Communications with the rest of the country are very good with easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways and Reading Station is a major terminal for the north, west and south of the country.

Facilities: These include a resident manager and emergency alarm service. There is pedestrian access off Knowlsey Road and vehicular access off Talbot Road which terminates at the playing field.
