Teddington: Teddington is an ancient settlement and in the 10th century was owned by the Abbey of Westminster. It lies to the southwest of London between Twickenham and Hampton Wick on the north bank of the Thames. In the 19th century Teddington Lock Footbridge was built to link Teddington with Ham and the town expanded considerably with the coming of the railways.
