Elizabeth Hart Court was refurbished in 1989 and consists of seventeen flats set around the gardens of the old Edwardian house. Facilities include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, laundry and attractive gardens and grounds. It is just a short walk to the shops in the High Street. Weybridge is named after 'bridge over the River Wey' and was owned by the Bishop of Bayeux at the time of Domesday. Julius Caesar is thought to have crossed here whilst campaigning in 55BC. The town was popular with Henry VIII though little now remains of his palace at Oatlands Park and in the twentieth century was home to Vickers where Barnes Wallis invented his bouncing bomb. Today Weybridge is an attractive town and has shopping to suit all tastes with many specialist boutiques and a retail park with major high street names nearby.
