New Forge Place is situated just off the High Street close to shops. The development consists of 27 flats in two storey buildings with attractive gardens and was completed in 1989.

Facilities include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, communal lounge, laundry and gardens.

Redbourn is mentioned in Domesday as Redborne and had two mills and probably derived its name from 'reedy stream'. It lies on Watling Street and there is an ancient British plateau fort above the valley. St Mary's Church was built in the 12th century and has an attractive 15th century screen. Later a Priory was founded on Redbourn Common about half a mile away. The village has a long high street and in the early 19th century was reputed to have more than 25 pubs and inns serving the coaching trade. Business eventually declined and the village got a bypass in 1984.

Tenure: Leasehold
