Estcourt House and grounds lie off Park Road in the centre of Stapleton. The house is listed Grade II and the six split-level retirement houses have been built by Mainsafe Limited in what was once the orchard. There are extensive south-facing views over the Frome Valley made famous by the 19th century landscape artist, Francis Danby. Park Road is the main route from Bristol to Frenchay and there is a wide choice of bus services to all areas of the city. More modern shopping facilities including a Tesco supermarket are available at Eastgate about a mile distant. The centre of Bristol, about a ten-minute car drive away has numerous cultural and leisure facilities. Specialist galleries and museums have grown up with the re-developemnt of the historic floating harbour together with special venues and restaurants.
