Estcourt House and grounds lie off Park Road in the centre of Stapleton. The house is listed Grade II and the six split-level retirement houses have been built by Mainsafe Limited in what was once the orchard. There are extensive south-facing views over the Frome Valley made famous by the 19th century landscape artist, Francis Danby. Park Road is the main route from Bristol to Frenchay and there is a wide choice of bus services to all areas of the city.

Facilities: The services of Estcourt House Care Home are available to the owners of Estcourt Gardens together with the facilities of the communal garden and car parking.

Stapleton is a popular residential suburb and is designated as a Conservation Area. It lies about four miles from the centre of Bristol and near to the motorway network. The village has a post office, newsagent, two inns, a hairdressers and a small antique shop. There is a mixture of Georgian mansions and Victorian villas and 20th century property. Holy Trinity Church is Victorian and was designed by John Norton in 1857 and has many of the monuments from the earlier church. The Methodist Chapel is built in the centre of a row of terraced houses in River View.

At Stapleton many ancient paths lead from Park Road into the Frome Valley where there are many recreational walks and beyond Wickham Bridge, across the River Frome, is Wickham Court, a seventeenth century farmhouse.

More modern shopping facilities including a Tesco supermarket are available at Eastgate about a mile distant. The centre of Bristol, about a ten-minute car drive away has numerous cultural and leisure facilities. Specialist galleries and museums have grown up with the re-developemnt of the historic floating harbour together with special venues and restaurants.
