Ivyfield Court Court was completed in 1989 and consists of 34 flats off Charter Road close to the centre of town.

Access : Chippenham is about six miles west of Calne and about 15 miles south west of Swindon. Devizes is about seven miles and Corsham four miles. Fast trains to London (Paddington) take an hour and fifteen minutes.

Chippenham was mentioned in Domseday as Chepeham and had 12 mills and a church and was an important Saxon town. It lies on the River Avon and in the ninth century King Alfred's army was defeated here by the Danes and later in the same year (878) the town was recaptured. Its name probably comes from 'Cippa's river-meadow'.

Today Chippenham has a wide range of amenities including a leisure centre, cinema, library and public parks with a comprehensive shopping centre. It developed in the 19th century as an engineering town outgrowing many of the beautiful surrounding villages such as Lacock and Castle Combe. The later was even a larger settlement in the 16th century.
