Grosvenor Court : Grosvenor Court is situated close to shops off Gosport Road in Stubbington and consists of 25 flats and bungalows completed in 1989. Facilities: These include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, laundry and lift. Shops are within walking distance. Stubbington : Stubbington is a large village about two miles south of Fareham and was mentioned in Domesday as belonging to Titchfield Abbey. It remained a largely farming community until the end of the 19th century and developed quite quickly in the early part of the 20th century. The village centre has a good number of shops. Fareham is set on a quiet backwater of Portsmouth Harbour and has a wealth of amenities and many places of interest to visit nearby. At the head of the Meon estuary lies Titchfield, once an important port, it still retains much of its original charm with old shops, inns and houses grouped around the village square. The ruins of Titchfield Abbey, once the home of the Earl of Southampton, stand to the north of the village while to the south on the coast is Hill Head. Hill Head has a shingle beach as well as being an excellent starting point for coastal walks. Fareham is of course an ideal place for sailing. There are also some 600 acres of parks and open spaces, including bowling greens and tennis courts. The nearest golf club is at Lee-on-Solent.
