There is also a modern leisure centre with swimming pool, library, two post offices and three chemists, as well as banks and a supermarket.

There are several interesting places to visit nearby including the Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge, Westonbirt Arboretum, Gatcombe Park, Badminton and Berkeley Castle. Thornbury Castle was built by the Duke of Buckingham and was frequented by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. The Duke was executed in 1521.
