Oakland Court : Oakland Court is situated close to shops in Goring Street and consists of 17 flats completed in 1988. Goring-by-Sea : Goring-by-Sea was known as Garinges in the 11th century and is now really a western suburb of Worthing lying two miles to the west. Today it is the largest seaside resort west of Brighton and dominates this part of the south coast with its fine beaches and over four miles of promenades. There is good shopping and easy access to local centres; Ferring, Goring-by-Sea, South Lancing, by bus or train. Oscar Wilde wrote his play 'The Importance of Being Ernest' at Worthing.
