Aylesbury : Aylesbury was known as Eilesberia in Domesday Book with a church and two mills. The town expanded considerably in the 1960s and left behind its historic past to the four squares and the ancient church of St Mary's with its distinctive 'Aylesbury' font. In Market Square stands a statue of John Hampden who opposed Charles I's demands for ship money and in Church Street is the County Museum in what was once a monastry guest house. Today Aylesbury is a busy county town with a modern shopping centre and good communications with six roads converging on the town including the main A41 from London to Bicester. Facilities : These include a visiting scheme manager and emergency alarm service, communal lounge and gardens. There is limited parking within the development. Kings Meadows : Kings Meadows was completed in 1987 and consists of twenty-four retirement bungalows about two miles from the town centre.
