Sondes Farm has been created out of the 19th Century buildings of Sondes Farm on land included in the Domesday Manor of Dorking. Records show that the name 'Sondes' first came to the area in the late 13th Century when the land was acquired by a family of that name.

Dorking is a traditional English market town with origins in the Iron Age though the town you see today has grown mostly from a Saxon layout.
