Avoncourt was built by Bovis Retirement Homes in 1987 and consists of 28 flats and bungalows off the Kenilworth Road and within walking distance of the centre of Leamington Spa.

Leamington Spa was mentioned as Lamistone in Domesday with two mills and its name derives from 'farmstead on the River Leam'.
