Saxon Court consists of 46 apartments on four floors, all accessible by both lift and stairs. There is an attractive dining-room and a comfortable lounge and conservatory along with a sheltered garden at the rear of the building. Facilities : To compliment the individual private apartments or bungalows, at every Court there are extensive communal facilities including a very comfortable lounge, a dining room and a meeting room and all Courts have a guest suite available for Owners’ visitors or prospective purchasers who may be considering a move to the Court. All Courts have attractive gardens and landscaped areas which are carefully maintained. Staffing and services available are greater than in traditional sheltered housing. A Manager ensures the smooth administration of the Court and in addition, a team of Duty Managers operate a rota system , 24 hours a day. A larger team of Housekeeping Assistants provide one-and-a-half hours of domestic help to each single Owner or couple every week as well as keeping the communal areas clean and tidy. At each Court, a comfortable dining room provides a substantial meal every day, usually at lunch time at a modest price for everyone who wishes to have it. Meals can be taken to Owners who are unwell. Help can be offered to provide other meals and snacks if required. Hove in the 17th century was known as Hoove and was not much smaller than its neighbour Brighton. Being so close to the continent the area was often a focus for raids and landings by the French and Brighton was badly burnt in the 16th century. Today the town is still dwarfed by its more noisy neighbour Brighton and there are some attractive squares fronting the sea with Brunswick Square forming the boundary between the two. Hove is home to Sussex county cricket ground with many good parks and gardens, art galleries and museums in the town. The British Engineerium was formerly the pumping station supplying fresh water to the towns but is now devoted to to the history of engineering. The King Alfred Sports Centre on the sea-front has two swimming pools, a restaurant, sports facilities and a children's playground. There is a lagoon for canoes. Brighton has a flourishing cultural centre with the Theatre Royal, arts festivals and concerts in the Dome. It is one of Britains leading resorts famed for the Royal Pavilion built for the Prince Regent .
