It has a complete range of modern amenities including a large number of shops and restaurants and is set in the beautiful Kent countryside. Close to the main shopping area is the famous colonnaded walkway known as the Pantiles. It owes its name to its original square clay tiled pavement which once covered the walks of the promenade. The area houses an excellent selection of interesting shops and pavement cafes, providing a delightful setting for outdoor activities and festivals. The town and surrounding area also offers a wide range of facilities for sport and leisure to suit most needs.
