There are several excellent restaurants, inns and tea rooms. The town has good sporting and leisure facilities with Badminton, Bowls and Archery clubs. Nearby there are many interesting places to visit including Cogges Manor Farm Museum, Blenheim Palace, Minster Lovell and the Roman villa at North Leigh.

Witney has long been by-passed by the improved A40 and several roads converge on the town from the surrounding district. Oxford is within easy driving distance being about 12 miles away and Burford, still in Oxfordshire, is about eight miles.
