Boat Lane was built in 1991, and is located in Northenden, a conservation area five miles south of the City of Manchester. It is set in pleasant and well cared for landscaped gardens, backing on to the old Boat Lane and leading directly to Northenden Riverside Park and the impressive natural surroundings of the River Mersey.
The Court is close to Palatine Road with its wide range of shopping facilities, and chemists; it is also close to a local medial centre, post office, library and a number of restaurants and cafes. Public transport is easily accessible from the Court and there are frequent bus services to Manchester Airport and Manchester City Centre. There are a number of leisure activities in the area inclusing three good local golf clubs.
The conservation area itself is centred on the nearby parish church of St. Wilfred's, extending northwards to include the picturesque river banks and southwards to the Victorian era shops, houses and other buildings on Church Road a |
