Peacehaven is a small seaside resort about two miles south-west of Newhaven. It stands high above the chalk cliffs about seven miles south of Lewes and is where the Greenwich meridian crosses the channel. Brighton is about six miles to the west. The town was developed during the First World War and still largely retains its original shape with rectangular plots of land on both sides of the main road. Today it has some good shopping and leisure facilities and you can reach the pebbly beach by a pathway.
