Alfriston is an attractive village situated in the South Downs National Park about five miles west of Polegate and about the same distance north of the seaside town of Seaford. There are a number of shops, cafes and pubs and excellent walks including the South Downs Way and others in the Cuckmere Valley. St Andrew's Church is a Grade I listed building next to the Old Clergy House and is known as the Cathedral of the South Downs.
