Eynsford : Eynsford is mentioned in Domesday as Elesford and belonged to the Archbishop of Canterbury with two churches and two mills. Its name probably derives fom 'Ford of a man called Agen' and in the 16th century it was known as Aynsford. The village lies about six miles south of Dartford where a 15th century bridge crosses the River Darent.
Eynsford castle is one of the most complete moated castles in the country dating from the 11th century gradually falling into decay having been sacked.
