Retirement Properties Spotlight in Ponteland

Ponteland : The River Pont runs to the north of Darras Hall and for much of the 19th century the village was subject to flooding due to its low lying position. It was not until the late 20th century that major defence works were put in place and today the old marshland has been drained with new residential development in its place. The village has two major supermarket chains with Sainsburys and a Waitrose.
