Hedon is a small town five miles east of Hull famous for the parish church of St Augustine and known as the King of Holderness, now a Grade I listed building. Hedon developed as a port in the early middle ages eventually declining with the growth of its larger neighbour, Hull. The town received its first charter in the 12th century.
