Farsley is mentioned in Domesday as Fersellei and for much of the middle ages remained a small farming community. It then became a wool processing centre in the 18th century and today is very much a commuter town being situated between its two larger neighbours - Bradford and Leeds. New Pudsey railway station is nearby providing train services to to both Bradford and Leeds. Farsley has a range of shops with Pudsey providing a wider range of amenities.
