Mortimer : Mortimer has a population now approaching 3800 and is almost the same distance from Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke. The village has good local shopping including a chemist, supermarket, newsagent, travel agent, bank, post office, hardware shops and churches of most denominations. There is also a library, coffee shops and several inns. Wokfield Golf Course is about two miles away. There is a bus stop close to the development with regular services to Reading and Tadley.

Mortimer has over forty parish organisations and numerous sports clubs including bowling, tennis, cricket and badminton. The Parish amd Methodist churches are close to the village centre and there is a Roman Catholic Church at Burghfield Common two miles away. Both Mortimer and Burghfield have large expanses of common land and there are many excellent walks. Nearby there are many interesting places to visit including The Vyne at Sherborne St John, West Green House and the site of Calleva Atrebatum.

The 'Mortimers' are contained between the two motorways - the M4 and M3. There is more than one ‘Mortimer‘ - with Stratfield Mortimer less than a mile away and a little further Stratfield Saye, the home of the Duke of Wellington. Trains from Mortimer Station to London (Paddington) take just under an hour.

Facilities : These include an emergency alarm service, guest facilities and laundry. Local shops are within walking distance.

Directions : To reach the property from Reading take the Basingstoke Road (A33) from the town centre and cross the M4 motorway Junction 11. Immediately south of the motorway turn right at the roundabout. Follow this road for about four miles until reaching Mortimer. At a major road bear right and follow the road to the top of the hill. After passing the 'Horse & Groom' turn left into West End Road. Glenapp Grange is on the right hand side 100 metres beyond a modern shopping centre.

Glenapp Grange : Glenapp Grange was built by Caversham Bridge Homes Limited in 1984 and consists of nineteen bungalows and flats set in the grounds of an Edwardian house. The house has been divided into four flats and is well set back from West End Road which is just beyond the Stephens Road and Drury Lane crossroads when heading east.
