The Moat House : The Moat House is situated off Dunmow Road to the south of Great Easton which is about three miles north of Dunmow. The development consists of 24 extra care apartments and was completed in 2009.

Dunmow : Dunmow is mentioned in Domesday as Dommauua and had three mills, 20 beehives, goats, cobs and cattle. The town lies on the site of a Roman settlement on Stane Street. The flitch trials were mentioned in the Wife of Bath's Prologue and Tales in Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales.
