Foxhall Court is situated off Southam Road close to shops in the centre of Banbury and less than a mile from the station. The development consists of 40 flats with communal facilities completed in 2008.

Banbury is mentioned in Domesday as Banesberie with four mills and belonged to the Bishop of Lincoln. For much of the late Middle Ages it was a fierce bastion of Puritanism and nothing remains of the old cross mentioned in the nursery rhyme which was destroyed in 1602. The present Banbury Cross is a 19th century replica and Elizabeth I, Lady Godiva and a member of the Fiennes family from nearby Broughton Castle have been variously identified as the ‘fine lady‘ in the ‘ride‘ of the nursery rhyme. The Oxford to Banbury Canal was built in the late eighteenth century and the M40 in the late twentieth.
