King Georges Court : King Georges Court is situated off Eastwood Road close to shops to the south of the town centre. It consists of 36 flats and was completed in 1998.

Rayleigh : Rayleigh was known as Ragewneia in Domesday with vines and a castle and the Romans probably settled here in the first century. It is an old market town which has expanded considerably in the last 25 years and lies about six miles north-west of Southend-on-Sea.

Its name probably drives from ' glade frequented by female rodeer or she-goats' and the forests around the town were Royal Hunting grounds for many years. The town has the remains of a famous castle which was built for Sweyn of Essex in the 11th century. It was much visited by Royalty until eventually falling into disrepair in the 15th century. All that exists today are the earthwork remains of its large motte and bailey.
