Melton Court consists of 90 apartments arranged in two buildings side by side - Melton Court West offers 46 apartments and Melton Court East the remaining 44. The Court is set in attractive landscaped grounds approximately two miles from Branksome Chine, and close to Westbourne. Ample car parking for Owners and their visitors is available to the rear of the two buildings.

Regular social functions both within the Court and further afield are organized by the Owners' Social Committee. At Melton Court there are a number of visiting hairdressers and a chiropodist and a prescription delivery service is also available.

Facilities : To compliment the individual private apartments or bungalows, at every Court there are extensive communal facilities including a very comfortable lounge, a dining room and a meeting room and all Courts have a guest suite available for Owners’ visitors or prospective purchasers who may be considering a move to the Court. All Courts have attractive gardens and landscaped areas which are carefully maintained.

Staffing and services available are greater than in traditional sheltered housing. A Manager ensures the smooth administration of the Court and in addition, a team of Duty Managers operate a rota system , 24 hours a day. A larger team of Housekeeping Assistants provide one-and-a-half hours of domestic help to each single Owner or couple every week as well as keeping the communal areas clean and tidy.

At each Court, a comfortable dining room provides a substantial meal every day, usually at lunch time at a modest price for everyone who wishes to have it. Meals can be taken to Owners who are unwell. Help can be offered to provide other meals and snacks if required.

Poole is a large seaside resort attracting lots of tourists in the summer to its wide sandy beaches and numerous attractions. Brownsea Island is a popular destination and King Canute once occupied it when he invaded England in the 11th century. The area has long been settled and the Romans founded Hamworthy just to the west of the town centre.

In the 15th century Poole's maritime trade flourished with the export of wool to the continent and today it remains a cross channel port for passengers and freight. With its sheltered waters the town is a major yachting and sailing centre and is home to the Headquarters of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
